Zeekr 9X tow hook thumbs-up goes viral with 400,000 likes, and Zeekr responds

A fun clip has been making the rounds on Chinese short-video platforms, showing a Zeekr 9X driver thanking the car behind with a tow hook thumbs-up after a polite lane change, and the video has racked up more than 400,000 likes.

In the clip, the black Zeekr 9X wants to merge into the leftmost lane, and a passenger first opens the second-row window and makes a pleading gesture to ask for the lane, with the car behind slowing down to let the 9X in. While waiting at a traffic light ahead, the 9X driver deploys the SUV's electric hidden tow hook, which carries a thumbs-up hand as a way of thanking the car behind.

The hook drew instant laughter online, with comments calling it the most polite lane change ever seen, saying this must be the real purpose of a tow hook, and joking that this is how you unlock it and they regret not optioning it.

The clip also set off a wave of follow-on demand, with searches surging and buyers asking Zeekr sales staff about retrofitting the hook, while e-commerce platforms quickly listed matching thumb accessories.

The video even got the attention of Zeekr itself, which praised the driver's courteous and kind interaction but reminded owners that the thumbs-up tow hook play is a fun hack dreamed up by netizens and not the designed purpose of the part, however entertaining it looks.
