Voyah Dreamer 9 debuts with a full L3 architecture and Huawei ADS 5, from $64,100

Voyah opened pre-sales for the Dreamer 9 on September 5, with the MPV priced from 429,900 to 529,900 yuan (about $64,100 to $79,000) across three trims, Ultra, Ultra+ and the Li Zun flagship, spanning plug-in hybrid and pure-electric powertrains in five configurations with launch benefits worth up to 50,000 yuan (about $7,450).

The headline is intelligence, since the Dreamer 9 is built on a full-vehicle L3 architecture and runs Huawei Qiankun ADS 5, with the latest 896-line dual-path imaging lidar plus three solid-state blind-spot lidars that tie driving, navigation and vehicle control together across city, highway and parking scenarios.

On the powertrain side, the Dreamer 9 uses an 800V platform across the range, with the PHEV carrying a 65 kWh battery with 5C fast charging that takes it from 20 to 80 percent in 12 minutes, while the EV version gets a 120 kWh pack, the largest battery in any MPV.

The second-row seats are the showpiece, combining rotation, sliding, zero-gravity and mechanical massage, with 45, 90 and 180 degree rotation and a one-touch zero-gravity mode that reclines to 147 degrees, plus a 13-liter cold and warm box and a 21.4-inch ceiling screen, while the front row gets dual 15.6-inch Huawei screens.

The Dreamer 9 also rides on a chassis with triple-chamber air springs and dual-valve adaptive dampers, and 10 degrees of rear-wheel steering gives this 5.3-meter (about 17-foot) MPV the turning circle of a mid-size sedan, so between the L3 architecture, Huawei ADS 5, pixel headlights and rotating seats, Voyah has stacked a 50,000-yuan-class MPV to a new level and is betting that hardware redundancy plus full-scenario driver assist defines the next stage of luxury MPVs.
