MG 07 Electric Coupe Pre-Sale Starts at $17,500, Offers Up to 525 Miles of Range and 800V Fast-Charging Platform

SAIC Motor’s MG Motor has officially opened pre-sales for its new all-electric hatchback coupe, the MG 07. The new EV is available in five trim levels, with prices ranging from 125,900 yuan to 165,900 yuan ($17,500-$23,100).

The version with more than 600 km (373 miles) of driving range will begin deliveries in late August, while the flagship model with an 845 km (525 miles) range will start deliveries in early October.

The MG 07 adopts a sporty electric coupe design featuring a fastback-style roofline, a signature styling element of modern performance EVs. It comes with an integrated clamshell hood, curved floating LED headlights, and an active grille design that improves aerodynamic efficiency.

The vehicle measures 4,886 mm (192.4 inches) in length, 1,900 mm (74.8 inches) in width, and 1,485 mm (58.5 inches) in height, with a 2,825 mm (111.2 inches) wheelbase. Positioned as a midsize electric sedan, the MG 07 will be offered in six exterior colors.

For a more performance-oriented appearance, the MG 07 features frameless doors, aerodynamic side vents on the front fenders, sporty side skirts, 19-inch Star Ring Gravity wheels, and 19-inch Silverstone Racing wheels paired with yellow brake calipers.

At the rear, the MG 07 features a full-width LED taillight design, a five-position adjustable electric spoiler, and a power-operated hatchback tailgate. The vehicle also includes a 168-liter (5.9 cubic feet) K-Box automatic front trunk, which can be opened with a simple tap.

High-Tech Interior With Premium Features

Inside, the MG 07 offers two interior color themes: White Violet and Royal Blue. The cabin is equipped with a floating digital instrument cluster and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen, powered by the Qualcomm 8295P chip and supporting seamless smartphone connectivity.

Like many Chinese EVs, the MG 07 focuses heavily on features and comfort. Equipment includes ventilated, heated, and massaging seats for all passengers, a panoramic glass roof, a multifunction makeup mirror, a zero-gravity “queen seat” for the front passenger, and a 21-speaker 7.1.4-channel audio system.

Storage capacity is another highlight. The rear cargo area offers 697 liters (24.6 cubic feet) of standard space, plus an additional 109-liter (3.8 cubic feet) underfloor compartment. Buyers can also choose an optional 30-liter dual-zone refrigerator.

Advanced Driver Assistance and 800V Fast-Charging Technology

Higher-end versions of the MG 07 are equipped with a LiDAR sensor system, an Xheart X7 AI computing chip, and Momenta’s R7 World Model intelligent driving system, enabling advanced driver assistance functions across a wide range of driving scenarios.

Power comes from a fully electric drivetrain with two output options:

* 175 kW (235 hp)

* 235 kW (315 hp)

The fastest version can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 5.9 seconds.

Battery options include a 67 kWh semi-solid-state battery and a 91 kWh ternary lithium battery, providing CLTC-rated ranges of:

* 610 km (379 miles)

* 650 km (404 miles)

* 845 km (525 miles)

The long-range model equipped with the ternary lithium battery is built on an 800V high-voltage electrical architecture and supports 5C ultra-fast charging technology, allowing significantly faster charging compared with traditional EV platforms.

All MG 07 models come standard with 6.6 kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) external power output, allowing owners to power external devices during camping, outdoor activities, or emergencies.

With its combination of a sleek coupe design, long-range capability, advanced driver assistance technology, and aggressive pricing, the MG 07 represents MG’s latest attempt to compete in China’s increasingly competitive electric vehicle market.
