Geely's Galaxy Warship 700 opens pre-orders from $29,770 with satellite links and floating escape mode

Geely opened pre-orders for the Galaxy Warship 700 on September 15, with six trims in all, five of them priced from 199,800 to 269,800 yuan (about $29,770 to $40,200) and the 700-unit limited Land Ark edition at 389,800 yuan (about $58,090).

The 199,800 yuan Explorer trim lowers the entry bar sharply, and despite landing under 200,000 yuan it punches above its price with a 47.14 kWh CATL battery and 305 km (about 190 miles) of electric range.

Another 10,000 yuan brings the Explorer+ with Qianli Haohan driver assist and lidar, while the 229,800 yuan Yufeng trim turns to off-road hardware with three-motor all-wheel drive, dual-chamber closed air suspension, a tank-turn function and the G-ATS intelligent all-terrain system. The Yufeng+ adds electric side steps and one-touch body leveling for camping.

The Land Ark edition at 389,800 yuan is the headline act, exclusively offering six-motor emergency floating escape, active hydraulic suspension, diffused oxygen supply and low-orbit satellite communications. Geely says vehicles on the market with emergency floating escape cost more than 500,000 yuan or even a million, so bringing that capability to a 300,000-plus price point is the story the Warship 700 most wants to tell.

The SUV measures 5,085 mm long and 1,999 mm wide on a 2,900 mm wheelbase, using a unibody structure with an integrated embedded ladder frame for torsional rigidity above 40,000 Nm per degree and about 200 kg less weight than a traditional body-on-frame design.

Power comes from 1.5T and 2.0T plug-in hybrids, with the 2.0T three-motor all-wheel-drive setup making a combined 1,129 metric horsepower (about 1,113 hp) and sprinting to 100 km/h in 3.95 seconds, while all versions get a 47.14 kWh battery for up to 1,770 km (about 1,100 miles) of combined range, plus active hydraulic suspension, a 192-line lidar and a wading depth of 800 mm (about 31.5 inches).

Pre-orders tell their own story, with 10,000 orders in nine minutes, 43,900 reservations within an hour and the 700-unit Land Ark edition sold out, and with singer Nicholas Tse as global ambassador, Geely's AI all-terrain SUV pairs a 199,800 yuan entry price with a 389,800 yuan extreme-spec flagship, stretching both the imagination and the price span of Chinese off-roaders at once.
