BYD's Dynasty series flagship sedan, the Da Han EV, launched tonight in three trims with official prices from 235,900 to 275,900 yuan (about $35,240 to $41,220), with the versions listed below.
The 1,008 km rear-drive lidar Premium at 235,900 yuan.
The 1,008 km rear-drive lidar Flagship at 249,900 yuan.
The 880 km all-wheel-drive lidar Flagship at 275,900 yuan.
Against the earlier pre-sale range of 249,900 to 299,900 yuan (about $37,330 to $44,800), the final prices are up to 14,000 yuan (about $2,090) lower, and existing BYD owners can also get a 10,000 yuan (about $1,490) trade-in subsidy.
The headline is up to 1,008 km of CLTC range, making the Da Han EV the world's first large pure-electric sedan to break the four-digit mark, and BYD says the car carries 44 globally leading technologies, with 15 features standard across the range including lidar driver assist, DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension, rear-wheel steering, flash charging and dual zero-gravity front seats.
On the outside, the Da Han EV continues the Dynasty family design with a 2.41-meter (about 7.9-foot) full-width daytime running light that BYD calls the longest unbroken light bar on any production car, a Chinese character badge in the middle and a Chinese knot-style tail lamp for instant recognition.
The car measures 5,256 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,510 mm tall on a 3,130 mm wheelbase, a stretch longer than the standard-wheelbase Mercedes S-Class, yet its drag coefficient is just 0.197.
Inside, the cabin achieves a 90.8 percent space utilization rate, the best in its class, with dual zero-gravity front seats that heat, cool and massage, and higher trims trimmed in full NAPPA leather with suede-like headlining, soft-touch door panels and white ash wood.
A 1.8-meter (about 5.9-foot) passenger can easily cross their legs in the back, where the seatback reclines 12 degrees and comes with a thigh support and a right-side footrest for a proper boss-seat experience.
The rear also debuts the world's first black PDLC adjustable glass, switching from fully transparent to fully opaque in under a second, along with a password-protected privacy glovebox. Audio comes from a 31-speaker Devialet system with eight headrest speakers, three-zone independent playback for driver, passenger and rear, and 2,320W of dual amplification.
On intelligence, every Da Han EV gets the God's Eye B driver-assist laser edition as standard, with hardware including one lidar, 11 cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars covering city navigation, highway navigation and multiple parking scenarios, and BYD also offers safety backing for smart parking and city navigation.
The cabin runs the Didi Xia AI super agent with multimodal natural conversation, plus driver facial recognition, phone-as-key, car-to-home connectivity and an AR head-up display.
All trims also get DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension with 100 mm (about 3.9 inches) of ride-height adjustment and road preview, paired with double-wishbone front and five-link rear suspension. Standard rear-wheel steering gives this 5.2-meter car a turning radius of just 4.95 meters (about 16.2 feet), smaller than many mid-size cars, making tight U-turns and parallel parking far easier, while the all-wheel-drive version brakes from 100 km/h to zero in 32.83 meters (about 108 feet).
For power and range, the Da Han uses a 102.3 kWh second-generation Blade Battery across the range with consumption of just 11.5 kWh per 100 km (about 182 MPGe). The rear-drive version has a single motor making 370 kW (about 496 hp) for 1,008 km of CLTC range and a 4.9-second sprint to 100 km/h.
The all-wheel-drive version adds a 200 kW (about 268 hp) front motor for a combined 570 kW (about 764 hp), hitting 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 270 km/h (about 168 mph) and 880 km (about 547 miles) of range. On charging, flash charging takes the pack from 10 to 70 percent in five minutes and to 97 percent in nine, with only three extra minutes even at minus 30 degrees Celsius (about minus 22 Fahrenheit), and BYD's flash charging network will reach 20,000 stations by the end of this year.
